Shaman Four Hawks Welcomes You

When the Door of Hope closes, the Door to the Shaman opens...

Welcome, my friend.
I am a practicing Shaman. If you have need of Services such as Soul Restoration, Afterlife Contacts, Spirit Health Check and/or (Self-)Healing, Resolution of a spiritual Emergency, Decision Guidance, Past-Life Revealing, etc...then email me at fourhawks01@comcast.net

In an emergency call me at 603-380-4437 (USA) or Skype me at Fourhawks01.

SITE UPDATE NOTES, AS OF 4/9/09:
I have started my new web site. You can visit http://www.shamanicnortheast.org/ and get the introductory information formerly presented here in a tighter, easier format. Eventually I will post a few Journeys there as well. My pay scale is there as well. As I mentioned before, my Helpers also wish for me to place more emphasis on being compensated for non-healing type Works from now on on a regular scale, while healing services are still on a voluntary basis.

I have several other links now that one can visit.

The first is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5SBqtkNLzo where you can see a video introduction. This link takes you away from my Blog.

You may also view my entire MySpace profile at http://www.myspace.com/153630758 and go to the video from there.

NOTE: You can see now there are groupings of Journeys under various Headings: "Healing", "Visiting the Dead", etc. I'll keep adding more to these and enter a few more categories. This will make the breadth and depth of Shamanic Practice more obvious. And now, onto the Works!!

Peace and Love,

FOUR HAWKS.

Hi,

This was a wonderful introduction to Shamanism. I understand it a lot more now. I wonder what my Power Animals are?

I think I have some "issues" that might have caused loss of some pieces of the soul. In addition to gaining them back, I'd like to be able to help others.

Are people born with this ability or can it be learned?

I will send you an email.

Thanks,

Stacey

Hi, I see you sent two messages..one asking for my normal email. I`m on
vacation in Canada right now, using the hotel service. But I will be home late Sunday. I use Kate Whitaker`s CD, which
I found on Amazon.com. Once I get back home I`ll be glad to try to help you
through the process. It is really quite easy once you realize you still need to
allow your imagination to work..but you let it lead. Also, the first
requirement in Journeying is to find your protector Spirit..I can help you do
that as well. If I don`t answer until Sunday, forgive me..time is short here.
:)

Peace,

Four Hawks

Hello Four Hawks,
I stumbled across your blog via a blogspot search and thought I'd say hello. My interests are related to shamanism and schizophrenia. Should you encounter any individuals suffering from the same, feel free to refer them to my blog.

Note, that I am not a shaman, nor do I offer any kind of services -- all that they will find there are some articles that might assist them in moving through the process with a little less stigma and a good deal more insight than that offered by the mainstream model of recovery.

Not to come across as offensive or anything, but do you really believe in all that stuff? You're a grown man, a grandfather and a federal employee. Yet you're telling us that you visit 'alternate realities' and commune with spirits. That's pretty far fetched. You sure this isn't just some sort of make believe game you play for fun or something? That stuff isn't real, man.

Or if it is, why don't you use your magic powers to end hunger or create world peace? Oh, that's right - you can't do anything like that. It would disturb the force or something. It seems like all these religious and mystic people who claim to be able to talk to god, or the spirits, or whatever can never produce any real world results with their supposed supernatural knowledge and abilities. If their powers are genuine I wonder why they can never verify them. These same people do produce plenty of excuses as to why they can't do anything that would prove their claims. I don't wonder why about *that* at all.

Oh well, I had some fun reading your site. It was entertaining even if it wasn't believable. You seem like a nice enough guy - why not give this stuff up and focus your energies on something that will produce real good for real people? Failing that, please let us know if you ever find a way to use your magic powers to accomplish anything that isn't imaginary.

Skeptically yours,

The Insolent Infidel

Hello, Insolent Infidel! Although I would hardly call you insolent. J Your message is quite learned, balanced and direct. It was a pleasure to read. I appreciate your taking the time to be so forthcoming.

Not only do I think what I have experienced is real, I KNOW it. I have many documented cases where what I have been shown on behalf of others has been proven true. I have two cases where a tumors have shrunk or gone away, yet others where it was the destiny of the person to keep their cancer and die from it. I have not placed all of them on my site for privacy protection reasons. But what I have experienced is so dramatic it often brings me to tears. This is not snake-oil, my friend. Recall Jesus gave his disciples the power to cast out demons? Guess what…those demons are real, and it is people like me to risk our own lives on behalf of others to remove them, for they cause much of today’s illness both physically and mentally/emotionally. This is how I “focus [my] energies on something that will produce real good for real people.” J This is the greatest gift I have ever had, and it is so humbling to have this ability. Infidel, tens if not hundreds of people have come to me for help and all have been extremely grateful at what the Spirits have done for them through me. It is not imaginary. The healings are real…

What you are asking is that all the problems and dark side events of the world simply go away at the will of the Shaman. This is the same as asking Jesus, why did you come here and then allow all the suffering, murder and disease to continue? Not trying to compare there, by the way. But what is critical to understanding what I do is that Balance between good and bad, light and dark, etc. is the very design of this existence. The bad, the illness, the hate, is supposed to be there, so we have choices about how to live…we are forced or convinced into an action, and then have to live with the consequences. How could it be otherwise? Moreover, everything we see here comes from Spirit. It is the missing “particle” that holds everything together, making it impossible for physicists to find, no matter how small they go. Being able to communicate with this spirit force allows one to investigate everything that is allowed to be known. For there are cases where I am not given permission to intervene for someone even if they ask! Some life paths cannot be altered, period.

I have family and close friends who fervently believe in what I do, for they have witnessed many of the results firsthand, other very close friends who don’t because it would upset their beliefs. I honor both perspectives, for it is not up to me to alter anyone’s belief set without their express permission. It is this latter condition that prevents me and others like me from “healing the world”. Each person comes here to learn a spirit lesson, and sometimes that involves heavy religious affiliation, others time atheism. It’s all good, as long as the person learns what they came here for. It is called Sacred Path. So it is not my place to interfere with others lives, when they have to do their own living. I can only assist in this lesson-learning if the person comes to me seeking help. I totally honor YOUR belief that what I do has no good effect. This belief set helps balance those of the people that do see the truth in Shamanism. I am really thrilled you are my first message of the new year. Your insights and observations are well-meaning and I take them in deep gratitude. As you say, as Father, Grandfather and a person holding two jobs, if I thought what I did was poppy-cock, my coworkers and family would be on my case a hell of a lot harder than you have been. J

“It seems like all these religious and mystic people who claim to be able to talk to god, or the spirits, or whatever can never produce any real world results with their supposed supernatural knowledge and abilities. If their powers are genuine I wonder why they can never verify them.” Yes, Infidel, there are many charlatans out there charging money and not delivering the goods. But this happens in all walks of life. I don’t know if you read far enough, but the true Shaman does not charge for services rendered. They are too important to have a price. So I spend many hours a week doing this for nothing more than the gifts some send to honor the work done. Beyond that, since spirit work is by definition non-verifiable scientifically, it is hard for me to prove to you that what I do yields the results that ensue. But here is the key thing to remember in all this. All healing comes from within. What I and my Helpers do is to create conditions within the other person that turns that belief switch on. THIS is what heals! Spontaneous remission of cancer is the most dramatic example of this effect. Not to keep quoting, but I come from a Catholic background: even Jesus always said “YOUR faith has saved you” when healings took place at his hand.

So, before I rattle on for another hour, I have Shamanic work to do today. J Thanks for writing, and while I know I have not changed your mind any, I do offer my services to you…as long as you come in honesty, seeking healing, what I do may very well bring about what you seek. Remember, though, I do very little in all this. It is the Helpers and the seeker who do the main work.

Happy New Year!!!

Peace and Love, Four Hawks

Hi again!

I read your reply and I would like to start off by saying I believe you are telling the truth. More specifically, I believe that you are telling what you believe to be the truth from your perspective. I do not doubt that you have seen cancer patients go into spontaneous remission. I do not doubt that this was a wonderful event that had a powerful effect on many lives. I do not doubt that you have seen many other wonderful - and maybe some not so wonderful - things happen as well. What I do doubt is that spirits, or magic, or god, or anything supernatural had anything to do with these events.

The fact is, people have spontaneous remissions from cancer and other illnesses for purely mundane, ordinary reasons. We know this is true. Scientific studies have shown this over and over again. People who are prayed for have the exact same rate of spontaneous recovery as those who are not prayed for. Spontaneous remission and spontaneous recovery are not due to prayer, magic or god. Prayer and other forms of supernatural healing have been shown in studies to have no effect on the rate of such remissions and recoveries. When people who are prayed for or who have availed themselves the services of a supernatural healer recover, it is simply a coincidence.

Here are a couple of videos on youtube.com that do a very good job of explaining why prayer (and by extrapolation) other forms of supernatural supplication are ineffective:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk6ILZAaAMI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH0rFZIqo8A

Here are links to articles describing scientific studies that showed prayer and other forms of supernatural healing are ineffective:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/14/AR2005071401695.html
http://www.religioustolerance.org/medical6.htm

Some people may be wondering by now why I'm making such a big deal out of this. After all, if prayer and other services promising supernatural healing make others happy and provide them with peace of mind, who am I to take that away from them? Well, the simple truth is faith healing and faith healers can be quite dangerous.

There exist horrible people in the faith healing community who will take advantage of others in their moment of weakness and need. Some of these faith healers will prey upon those who they are praying for. These 'healers' will exploit these poor souls, drain them of their money and discard their victims like so much rubbish when they have nothing left to take. Some of these monsters even go so far as to persuade their victims to forbear conventional medical treatments for the illnesses from which they suffer, callously allowing these hapless people to die when real medical treatment could quite literally have saved their lives. Such exploitative practices are inexcusably, intolerably and unforgivably evil.

Now, I am in no way accusing you of being such a monster. From what I've read on your blog, you really don't seem the sort to me. Also, as you've said, you don't charge the people who come to you or try to extract anything from them. I am very glad of that. I hate people who victimize others in this way - it's just so awful. You may not be one of the evil people of whom I spoke in the previous paragraph, but the people who are coming to you for help are the same group of people from which the predators select their victims. By allowing their belief in the power of prayer and supernatural healing to be perpetuated, these poor people are left vulnerable to those exploiters who promise them healing and relief, but deliver only misery and victimization.

Hello again, I2. Thanks for your well-thought out response. Let me just add a few comments, and then I believe we will both have had our say?

You wrote: “The fact is, people have spontaneous remissions from cancer and other illnesses for purely mundane, ordinary reasons. We know this is true. Scientific studies have shown this over and over again. People who are prayed for have the exact same rate of spontaneous recovery as those who are not prayed for. My reply: If the reasons are so mundane and ordinary, why are they such a mystery to western science? What Shamans do is not prayer, although we do pray…it supercedes it. We actually find the energy source of the illness, reveal it to the person, and show what they need to do to rid themselves of it. The results are not a coincidence and they know it. Moreover, prayer ordinarily involves concepts such as Hope or Faith. These are based in Doubt. What I deliver is Knowledge, the Truth. When I Journey for a Client, the details I bring back are verified by them, often to their astonishment…this is how the Spirits reach out to these people, and how their healing mechanisms are switched on. As you well know, the western tradition of telling someone they have 6 months left to live will in most cases certainly NOT turn on this switch. So we are not in the realm of prayer. Secondly, as I said, it is not the Path of everyone to be healed. I have dealt with people who are simply destined to die of their disease. So to objectively look at results of studies of prayer or supernatural interventions misses the point. Anytime a Shaman can pinpoint the event that led to the illness, and the Client knows it to be true, healing can and WILL ensue IF it is supposed to. Nothing mundane about that, eh? I am usually wary of scientific studies, for in my 50-plus years I have seen virtually every major scientific trend reversed by yet another major scientific study. But Shamanic Practice is by and large a constant, having been similarly revealed over thousands of years. So we can agree to disagree. Obviously I can point to books and videos that reveal the power of Shamanism. But what Shamanism can do, and has done for thoudsadns of years, is so remarkable, that it doesn’t really need or ask for scientific verification. All it needs is the verification of each person helped, one by one…over millennia. You may and do disagree with it, but my experience and research verify it completely. Both our points of view are valid. This is the Yin Yang, the Sacred Balance, at work. Finally, while I applaud all the advances made in medical science, and totally agree with you that no-one should foreswear traditional treatment, the people who come to me tend to be at the end of that rope…medical science has gone as far as it can…and now we need to get to the root cause of the illness to have a chance at removing it.

You wrote: “There exist horrible people in the faith healing community who will take advantage of others in their moment of weakness and need. My reply: Your heartfelt rage against exploitation of the weak makes us kindred souls indeed! I agree with you totally. My only furtherance of your ideas is to offer that one can apply the same ideas to virtually all walks of human endeavor. For example, immigrants being brought to this country illegally and/or by force “are left vulnerable to those exploiters who promise them [a wonderful new life], but deliver only misery and victimization.” We have seen doctors who have been caught victimizing patients. On and on it goes. Predators will always be with us…including those that live in the Spirit World. That is what makes my work and gift so vital, so important and so needed. I take on those predators at great risk to myself on behalf of those who cannot help themselves. They are never forced to work with me, and can stop at any time, never to hear from me again if they so desire. This happenstance is very rare, though. This is why I again say to you that my Shaman work IS the best service to the community that I can provide. We disagree fundamentally, but I hope you obvious wisdom will be added to by life experiences down the road that bring you closer to how I view the world. I place protection over you, and hope you walk your true Sacred Path is peace and centered joy.

Peace and Love, Four Hawks

Sacred Pipes
It is possible to have a "sacred pipe" ONLY if this pipe has received the blessings and permissions of qualified tribal elders, otherwise it is just a rock with a hole in it. While you have no respect whatsoever for integrity in your work, this pretending and making things up seems to have a following for you of people who are liklely just like you. Your explanation about shamanism is nonsense and your effort to mkae youself into four hawks is laughable. However, your claims to be in use of sacred pipes could earn you a visit from a United Staes Marshall as it is a crime to claim to represent sacred American Indian religious teachings. While you and your naive readers have every freedom to believe whatever you want, you are not free to disrespect American Indian culture. Everyword and prepostrous claim you have made has everything to do with your imagination and nothing to do with this subject, about which you know nothing. There seems to be an epidemic of lost white men like you, who have no souls of their own, making claims like this. It is pathetic and sad. However, do what you want. You should stp referring to sacred pipes completely or I am sure you are going to be surprised in the future. Fraud seems to be your strong suit. The days are getting past us now that people like you can defame the sacred of tribal people. Heads up mailman.

I am sorry you are so angry at me. First, I obtained my Pipe through Penebscot Indians, who prior to the transaction knew of me and my honorable intentions, and were more than happy to see me have one. If selling it it me was illegal, they are to blame.

Second, very little of what I have written is based on Native American teachings, and I am sorry you have no respect for the teachings of Shamanic cultures from other parts of the world. These are equaly valid and have been verified over thousands of years. This is also where my information comes from, in addition to my own experiences. The Spirit World is large enough to entertain different views of itself. Many Shamanic Cultures have different variants of the essentials, and mine is no different. I have been in touch with some of them, and they have no problem with my Life Path.

Third, the Results I get with my Helpers on my bonafide Journeys for my Clients are irrefutable, some published on this site, and the furthest thing from Fraud one can get. You probably did not get this far, but I do not charge for my services...people come freely, get what they need, and move on. By the very nature of it, this cannot be fraud.

Most importantly, I would think a person in your apparent position would celebrate a person such as myself finding the True Way, and getting away from the religious culture that caused so much pain and destruction to yours to begin with. Also, almost all of my practice now does not involve the Pipe. It is sitting bundled in my Altar with the utmost Respect. I have never defamed it, and in the Past it has brought Healing to many People. While I FULLY understand it, I hope you outgrow your Anger and become more tolerant of other Cultures reaching out to better themselves, for your sake and the world's. But I will tell you this...I'm very glad you had the courage and spirit to write to me and express your obviously heartfelt feelings. The very last thing I am about is defaming Native American Spirit and Culture. I look forward to discussing this with you more, if you like.

Peace and Love, Ken

The Lost People
by Thom Hartmann

...On the last day of the Harvest Gathering, a Council was held — essentially a talking circle by the Native, Black, and White elders. Author Thom Hartmann was invited to participate in the circle as a white elder, but time was short and not all persons had an opportunity to speak…including Thom. So here are the words he intended to share with the Native Americans and others gathered in the Council circle.
---

...
Please Understand and Have Compassion
And so, my Native American friends and elders, I ask that you understand the cultural poverty of my kin, and forgive them their ignorance.

When Whites climbed under the rope around the sacred circle, they did so because their experimental Younger Culture has little concept of the importance of ritual…and so it is a doomed culture. When they interrupted and were not respectful to the Grandmothers, it is because their culture has no concept of wise elders…and so it is a doomed culture. When they imitate you and pretend they understand the ways of Native Americans, it is because they come from a world in which there are no elders who remember the Great Law, the Right Way To Live, or who walk in the Spirit Path day by day as an ordinary part of everyday life…and so they are trying to escape from their doomed culture.

An Apache friend of mine once said, “Why don’t the White people just learn to be satisfied with their own culture and leave us and ours alone?”

The unfortunate answer is that White people and those they subsumed have no true and functional culture, no way of life capable of sustaining humans for tens of thousands of years. All they have is an experiment, which all evidence shows is doomed to fail, and — in fact — is failing spectacularly all around us even at this moment…and threatening to take much of the rest of the life on the planet with it.

And so those few who have in their hearts the understanding of the loss of their ancestors’ ways 2000 years ago, the loss of their native cultures, are empty and longing and in pain. They are afflicted with a sickness of the spirit, the same as if half their blood had left their bodies. They are slaves to the corporate dominators — the modern-day kings of the world — and they intuitively know they are slaves.

And yet they yearn for freedom and crave the wisdom of cooperative tribal ways, which is now only found in the few remaining ancient and native cultures.

So, our wise elders, I thank you for sharing your wisdom and culture with my White sisters and brothers. As you say, they cannot become Indians. They cannot learn the language and do the ceremonies of your people. They will never get it right: it is not in their blood or their upbringing, and they lack the elders to correct them and keep them on the Pollen Path. But they can — and must — learn from you, both from your teachings and the examples of your lives.

This is their great challenge, their great mission, and their urgent quest: to save the future by transforming the present dominant world culture.

They must create their own way, their own tribes, their own clans, and their own rituals and laws. To do this, they must learn the true history of what was done to their people over the past three thousand years, and try to recover what they can of their original culture. They must learn from other cultures who still have ten-thousand-year-long memories — like yours — and use those lessons about what works and what doesn’t to live in harmony with the Earth and other peoples. As they acquire this wisdom, they may be able to rebuild the foundations and assumptions of “modern” culture into something that will work and is sustainable.

And they must do it soon, because they are the people of the culture with thousands of atomic bombs, millions of deadly microbes, billions of lethal weapons. For the first time in the five billion years of the life of Mother Earth, one culture has the power to lay waste the entire planet...by accident.

With your help and suggestions, those who listened to your wise words may find a way to turn our Younger Culture toward the Older Wisdom and Ways which have kept humans — and other species — alive and thriving on this planet for millions of years. They may bring us through this peril and into the light of a new day.

God help us if they fail.

You have really great taste on catch article titles, even when you are not interested in this topic you push to read it
