Journey 185 - A Young Girl Troubled

4/8/05:

First a quick word of introduction. The Shaman’s Journey involves honoring the Helpers Spirits and then using a steady drumbeat to reach the level where the Spirit of the Shaman can leave his or her body and venture out into one or more of the three Spirit Worlds (Upper, Middle and Lower) for guidance. The Upper World is the place of Guidance, and houses the Upper World Soul (genealogical) called the Ami (‘em). The Middle World is where we live now, and our Soul Piece here is called the Suld (“soold”). It remains here after death and eventually merges into Nature as a Helper Spirit. The Lower World in the place of empowerment and houses the Soul Part known as the Suns (“soons”). It carries past life information. All three Worlds are beautiful and lush..there is no evidence of the Hell promulgated by western religions.

Spirit invasions can occur when any one of these Soul Parts gets lost, and latches onto a person or place where it does not belong. During a Journey, the Shaman sees these Souls and tries to right their Path. There are also Dark Entities that must be dealt with, some quite dangerous. Shamans have many tools given them by their Helpers to deal with these Beings, but always rely on help from one or more Higher Spirits that are working with the Shaman. These Helpers often appear at first in the form of totem Animals, such as Owls, Hawks, Deer, etc. Humans relate better at first to these forms than they would the Spirit itself, and can use the qualities of that Totem in their Shamanic work as well. If we find ourselves alone in a bad situation, we call for help immediately..and it always arrives. Shamans can also move through Time and Space instantly, going into the Future or Past, and changing into other types of beings, such as Birds. In fact, in the Center of Existence, where Shamans travel to at the Journey’s beginning, all of Time and Space, from all realities and universes, meet at that one point. From there, the Shaman can go anywhere.

One final concept: Sacred Path. Because we are comprised of Soul Parts that reunite for subsequent lives, we each come here with a Spiritual Plan. This plan may involve a wonderful life..or a life filled with suffering and early death. The goal is to be a stronger Spirit when leaving than when we arrived. However, we forget this Plan at birth and spend the rest of our lives trying to remember. Many never do. Therefore, there are instances where people come to Shamans for changes in their lives but do not get them. They have forgotten why they came here, and during Journey work a Shaman can see what the Plan is. This is why Shamans do not Journey for people unless they are asked..we do not want to interfere with the chosen Path of the individual.

So, onto the Journey.

A Journey for an acquaintance's daughter, who is apparently having a very hard time of it as she heads into the age of reason. I had sensed at first she was heading into her teens, but was corrected later by her mother..she is only 7. No doubt a very mature 7. As I went into the Journey, I found myself as a Hawk flying around in playful loops with my Upper World Guide Eagle Claw, who was in the form of an Owl. We were soaring together beneath the Stars of a very clear and vibrant night Sky. But soon Owl directed us downward and we landed in a tree next to a home. No doubt the young girl's home. As we sat in the Tree an observed, I saw a huge Dark shape, taller than the house, stomping around and through the house, over and over. It was a bit as if it were writhing. In order to get closer, Owl and I shape-shifted into Moths, and fluttered unnoticed down to the lawn, closer to the house. I placed my Shaman’s Mirror face up on the grass and then placed 12 lit candles around it to honor all the compass points and associated Spirits. I hopped onto the Mirror and looked at the house and its visitor through the surface reflection. I saw now, instead of the dark shape, a heavy set white male, in his mid 50s, with thinning slicked back white hair. He was jerking back and forth between being flesh and Spirit, as if lost in a non-ending loop. He looked to be in great distress. I took my Shaman’s Staff, and still sanding on the Mirror, rose to equal his height. I reached out and took his hand, and he immediately settled down. He asked who I was, and I told him, the Shaman Four Hawks. I’m working from fading memory now, but I believe his name was Don. He led me to a hospital room where he was lying on a bed, in a coma. I wondered if he was lying there now, or if this was the time of his passing. I then saw a fleeting image of a granite block with the year 1998 inscribed, so I knew he had died about 7 years ago and his Lower World Soul had been trapped here on Earth ever since. He just happened to have locked onto this particular dwelling. So I asked him if he wished to finish his journey to the Lower World, where the Suns Soul, one of three humans have, goes. He was very agreeable and relieved. I led him to a River nearby that had Stars sparkling in it. This was the River to the Lower World, and as “Don” jumped into the water, he turned into a Salmon. I watched as the Fish swan quickly toward the Falls that lead to the Lower World, and as he went over the edge, he flipped up into the air momentarily and wiggled in a gesture of joyful thanks. I went back to the house. I saw that the daughter feels almost totally disconnected. The Dark Energy over the house certainly didn’t help, and that is now gone. But she needs a lot of empathy, understanding, and relating to, especially from her mom, who if course is trying to maintain the parental stance. I also saw that perhaps a counselor would be good for the daughter as well. I then went back outside and placed Pine Cones around the house at the cardinal compass points. These linked together in four streams of Spirit Light, which then expanded to a full dome, covering the house with protective Spiritual Energy. I then saw a couple of additional images. The first was of a Jamaican boy holding a boom-box up to his right ear as he rollerbladed along a street. He was in his teens, I believe, and seemed quite at home in his environs, even though the street he was on looked very much like a local town. I also saw the daughter as a small girl, perhaps 2 or 3, standing on one of those lawn water slides. She looked very unhappy, as if refusing to play on it..and looking very much like she wanted nothing to do with it. The final information I was given is that, given her life unfolding as currently foreseen, she will find working as a paralegal very interesting and exciting. But I also saw that she would very much like to be a performer..singing or acting. The Call Back then sounded, and I thanked my Guides and returned.

Notes: The presence of the thrashing Spirit no doubt contributed to the behavioral challenges being faced in this household. Its removal and the emplacement of a Spirit Dome over the house will go a long way toward bringing comfort levels back up. But the issue of relating and empathy also will play a large role. It’s easy to forget as parents what it’s like to be so young. Sometimes growth patterns are a result of an individual’s Sacred Path, and we need to honor that as best we can.

Owl and I playing at the beginning implies that Tamika needs to be much more playful.

The fact the Being turned into a Salmon is very important. Salmon represents listening to your life’s call..getting back to the Source in spite of obstacles and dangers. It is obviously key to Tamika’s happiness and success that she listen to her inner voice and answer her own calling.

The Pine Cones are significant in that Pine Trees are the Tree of Peace and being “ever green.”

The Jamaican Boy may have meaning in that Island cultures are more Spiritually based than our culture. There may be benefit in Tamika exploring the Spirit Side of Life more deeply. She needs to know that she is a Spirit Being who has lived before and will live again, and that this life is one of many. Also, Jamaican music and/or performance may be what she is naturally drawn toward.

The image of her rejecting the water slide is very significant. Water represents the Feminine and/or Emotions. The fact she is refusing to play in and slide along the Water shows she is rejecting her feminine/emotional side..too much left-brain thinking (logical, analysis) and not enough right-brain (intuition, Spirit).

4/9/05: The Mom's response: “As for the water slide, We use to have an in-ground pool in our back yard and my daughter would not go down or near it because when she was 1 1/2, she got stung by four hornets because they had made a nest under the ladder. Also for "Don", he fits my dad' s description his name is Dana. Also about my dad Dana. I forgot to tell you about the slab. My daughter was born in 1998, and my dad and I engraved her name and birth-date along with a 1998 penny on a concrete slab that was around our pool. Oh, my daughter loves music!! I thought that was neat.”

To which I answered: “Thanks for filling me in on some of the correlations! It is always so cool. The pouting on the water slide makes so much more sense now.. VERY interesting. Perhaps Dana’s “death” as Don in my Journey was more metaphorical..a death of an era of fatherhood. Or perhaps the unease of becoming a grandfather? Was your Dad cool with all this back then? It seems to close to ignore, so there may be a deeper meaning in the coma scene. As I recall and look back at the journey, I ASSUMED the man in the coma had died..I was never told that as I look back on the scene. So you must be right concerning the name and date. This is what is so cool about being the Vessel for the Helpers. They often pass along info that I might misinterpret, but the person for whom I Journey gets the real meaning.”

I also sensed her daughter was heading into her teens..I obviously read her maturity, and this helps explain her inability to relate to people her age.
