Journey 199 - Two Power Animals Retrieved

4/29/05: The first of two Journeys, the first for a Man. After my usual preparations,. I found myself standing in a grassy area at Night. The surface of the Earth seemed to be undulating around and ahead of me, as if Ribbons in the Wind. My Lower World Guide, Crosses in Front, arrived in the form of Snake, but wearing Mexican regalia. She then turned into her human Spirit form and continued dancing, as if to a Mexican beat. We began walking across/through the undulating Ground, and soon came to an opening. It had the look of an old mine entrance. Colored paper lights were strung across the top. We went in, realizing this was the Tunnel to the Lower World entrance. As we went further in, the Tunnel went from being a dirt mine shaft to a corrugated metal tunnel. We emerged and found ourselves in my usual Power-Animal-search area of the Lower World. But it was completely black, save for a large and well-lit semi-Rainbow off to our left and up the side of a mountain. It seemed to be sticking out of the side. There was a shower occurring to produce the Rainbow, but there were no Clouds. Moreover, there were no artificial Lights, either. The whole scene seemed to be lit from within, as if from its own Power. Suddenly, from beneath the brilliant Rainbow arc and through the curtain of light Rain came a Condor. It flew right over us and dropped some white excrement on us. We found this to be an honor of some sort. But it also convinced us to move up into the Rain and wash ourselves off. We did so. On the other side of the Rain curtain we saw a beautiful young Woman, sitting on a Rock protrusion. As we got near, she turned into a large Fish and jumped off into a Pond far below. She had been either a Bass or a Rainbow Trout. We then waited, for we had yet to see any Animal that was acting as a Power Animal for the Man. We saw a Goat above us, a Mountain Lion in the distance, but neither had any interest is us. Eagle and Owl, my two other main Guides, then flew in to where we were standing, to help increase our Windhorse. Then, in the Sky ahead of us, a scene appeared. A bunch of wild Horses were running along a hillside. One pulled out of the flow and came over to us. It was a Red Horse, with bright green eyes, and when it reared up, it revealed a yellow belly. It came right up to me and licked the palm of my hand. I knew we had found the Power Animal. The scene then shifted. I saw a young Girl sitting in a highchair in a kitchen. The young Girl turned into a young Boy. It was the Man when young. He got down and went to a lower cupboard and pulled out a bunch of pots and pans. He liked the shine and the weight. I then saw that he loved to watch shows and read books involving horses..Black Beauty, Lassie? I then saw several scenes involving a grown-up and fun-loving Man in which real horsepower is involved..racing cars, powerboats, etc. In another scene shift, I then saw a small white Dog running around a yard with its own leash in its mouth. We were trying to catch it but it kept dodging us. This was the end of the imagery flow. We then started tracing our way back from the Lower World. When we got back to the beginning, Crosses resumed her Mexican dancing and presumably went back to the party she had come from. The Call Back then sounded and I thanked my Guides and returned to the room.

Horse represents travel, power and freedom. It symbolizes movement, travel, sexual desires. It encourages you to ride into new directions to discover freedom and power. It asks: are you too constricted, or are those around you? The red color indicates stimulation, an awakening of the life force. Red is warming and activating. It stimulates deep passions..too much red can mean high blood pressure. See the attached readout for the full story on Horse Medicine.

Yellow implies intellectual activity, awakening and ability. It serves as a strong antidepressant. It awakens confidence, optimism and enthusiasm for life..but too much creates anxiety.

Green reflects calming, balancing, growth. It increases compassion. It soothes the nervous system. Green awakens friendliness, hope, faith and peace. I stimulates growth. It cancels out red’s effects. Never use green around cancerous growths, though.

The girl/boy transformation seems to imply that the Man is well-balanced in his male-female Energy regime. He would be equally comfortable with both sexes, and understands both perspectives.

Dog stands for loyalty and protection. The fact the Dog in the Journey is running around with its own leash in its mouth implies the Man may have let control of these two elements out of his control a bit. Loyalty given blindly, and protection from another, can be less than adequate, and a disloyalty to ones own Power.

Journey 2 was for a Woman. This one took of into a completely different direction, as is to be expected. I was very small, and standing in some snow. Snow was falling all around me, and as I looked up I could see each flake was individually colored. Snake then moved in from the distance ahead of me, and was very large, telling me I was very small. We looked off into a distant stock of Trees and saw a frosted yellow Sun hanging low just beyond the Trees. We headed for it, assuming it was the Tunnel entrance. I, being so small, hitched a rode on Crosses’s back. As we passed the Tree stand and approached the Sun, the Earth fell quickly away. I had the sense of flying and falling at the same time. We went into the Sun and passed through a frosted glass Tunnel, lit white-yellow light. When we emerged, we were back in the Lower World. But we were standing adjacent to a Tropical Beach! Up in a nearby Tree sat a Parrot or Cockatoo. While it was full of color, I remember Red, Orange and Blue standing out. It flew down and landed on my right arm, grasping me firmly but not painfully with its large talons. This was the Woman’s Power Animal, and an unusual choice. Suddenly we were atop an Aztec Stone Monument on the form of a large Bird. The two wings stretched out to either side of us. We went up and up, and soon came into a Cloud deck. When there, the scene shifted. I saw the Woman lying on her bed, the daylight streaming in through a single window. She read for a while, but then lay on her stomach, as if bored. She then hopped off the bed and began to head out the door, but stopped in the bathroom first. She turned on the water and a black ribbon of water came out. She then headed out. The scene shifted and I saw her working somewhere in complete contentment for a while. Nothing stood out about this scene, and my remembrance is quite murky. Apparently she fit right in where she was. This was the near end of the Journey..except as we were coming back, we stopped to see the Woman standing under an Apple Tree at night, eating a donut and sipping from a cup of coffee.

Parrots/Macaws characteristics include:

Use of language
Mockery/mimicking
Pair bonding
Brings rain*
Guidance and wisdom to think before speaking

*Rain is a Feminine element, the gift of the emotions.

The Frosted-Glass Tunnel, combined with the snow scene at the beginning, implies something is frozen out or not totally clear in her Life. The multicolored snowflakes, though, seemed to suggest the appearance not soon afterwards of the very colorful Macaw at the exit from the Tunnel. Color is obviously big in her life.

Parrot/Macaw is the Bird of the Sun. Its Feathers can be used as Healing Sticks to invoke the Sun’s Power. The Parrot is a wonderful Teacher of the Power of Colors, and people with Parrot Medicine should study how to use Colors for Healing and Health. Parrots’ mimicking of humans represents a link between Man and Bird..it encourages diplomacy. See the attached Parrot readout for full explanations.

The huge Stone Bird Column of Aztec origin indicates that a trip to the Andes might help make a connection that brings Life Full-Circle to the Woman. Somehow the actual visit will tie in with her youth..and voila!

The black water in her bathroom indicates the water she drank as a child was full of bad elements. She should consider a detoxification regime at regular intervals.

The Apple Tree scene implies Apple may be a useful addition to the diet..versus too much sugar and caffeine!! It also recommends against heavy snacking at night.

Red is discussed above. Blue means relaxation, antiseptic, cooling. It awakens intuition and eases loneliness. It awakens artistic expression and creativity, and is very effective when mixed with the warm colors, as on the Macaw. Orange represents joy, wisdom and creativity It stimulates feelings of socialness. It is tied to our emotional health and the muscular system.

Random notes from the Friend who brought the Man and Woman to me. She reports both PAs are “perfect” for the Man and Woman. They both love Mexico! The Woman is an artist and deals with colors all the time. The Man loves the concept of horses, and in fact owned a Red horse when he was younger! The Woman loves coffee and sweets, and if I recall right, had an Apple Tree farm, or lived on one. Bottom line: the Friend thought both Journeys were right on the mark.
