Journey 188 - A Relationship Check

4/10/05: A Journey to check the status of a relationship between a man and woman. I was given a star that was a gift from him to her, and held that to my Mirror as I Journeyed. After the usual preparations, I was off. I saw myself racing toward a set of very tall, swaying Pines. It was night. I reached the very top of one of the Trees. The night was clear and cool and there were numerous shooting stars soaring across the Sky. I was overlooking a plain, with numerous lit houses dotting the landscape. Suddenly my Upper World Guide, Eagle Claw, in his Owl form, arrived. He landed next to me, and was black from having past through a Fire. His Feathers were still smoking. He told me to look behind me, and there it was. Am immense inferno as rushing toward us, consuming everything in its path. I saw the Spirit of Fire lunging along with the Flames. Owl told me to stay with him, and we were soon engulfed in the Flames. I felt no pain and suffered no damage. With the Fire past, the scene suddenly shifted. I saw a sidewalk with a curb, with a storm drain just off to the right. As we got closer and closer, I noticed some pebbles lying on the street next to the curb. We got very close. One of the pebbles began to wiggle and come to Life. It was a Stone Person Spirit. The scene shifted again and we were sitting in a Mexican looking plaza with all stone table and chairs. We had obviously entered the Stone’s World. We sat at one of the Tables. Stone Spirit then produced a wedding cake with the woman and a man on top. The funny thing about this Journey is I never got a good look at the man, never really saw him. He was just a presence. The figures on the Cake began walking together as if down an aisle. I then saw the couple walking with a total of three children, two of them new, a product of the marriage? I then was inside a reception hall where the Bride, the woman, was standing over something on the table, either cutting it or picking it up. As she did so, I saw the Fire Inferno go blasting by the windows of the Hall. There were no smoke, heat or other effect inside the hall. We were then back at the Stone table. Stone Spirit had a sprig of Pine Tree and a small Stone on the table. He intimated these represented Shannon and her man. Although, he said, a union between a Stone and a twig seems unlikely, due to Stone’s being set in its ways and Twig being relatively free and peaceful, he took the two objected and combined them. There on the table was a larger slab of stone with the twig fossilized within it. We then returned to the Tree where the Fire had hit us. It was day now. I looked behind me at the area that had been burned, and it was lush with astonishingly quick, new green growth and there was a large rainbow over the area. I looked down. There was a River, and the woman, her man and the three kids were there, on the side, having a picnic. Suddenly, I saw the ghostly image of a very old man approaching them. It was a Middle Earth, or Suld, soul, still wandering as if human. I went own to see who it was. He keep heading closer toward the young girl, saying he wanted his “property back.” I intervened and told him that in her new Life, the girl was now free and on her own Path. He had no right to her Soul anymore. I then took the old man and brought him to the Stone Spirit. We offered the old man corn, dried beef and an alcohol wash of some sort. He ate heartily and gratefully. Glad he was no longer after the young girl, and recognizing his need to return to nature, he went across the Street and went into a stock of Pine Trees, where he met with other Suld Souls and was quite content. At this point, the images became a bit more scattered. I saw that the girl was very excited about the marriage, as long as she was kept totally involved in the whole affair and felt a key part of it. I later saw an old woman rummaging around, but seemed to be harmless. She seemed intent on finding something, but I was not shown where or what. One of the final images was of a person looking like a company President helping the woman with some sort of project outside the building. They seemed to be working together on some project or other. One last image has escaped me..it was brief and seemed quit clear at the time, easy to remember but when I came back the phrase did not return with me..this is quite rare for me to lose something from a Journey..perhaps it was not meant to come back Someone was chanting a three-word phrase to the time of the Drumming, and it was something like “See What’s True”, or “Say What’s True”, but it has yet to come back to me, so we can’t put much stock in this phrase. I know it made sense in the context of the scene, and seemed to imply a harmonious relationship continuing between the woman and her man. While the Call Back Drumming was bringing me back, a large burst of light appeared in my inner vision. I could see it drift across my closed eyelids. It looked like a star.

Notes: The presence of Fire before the wedding scene and during the reception implies that something major has to change in the relationship before marriage. Fire is the great transmuter, destroyer, restorer. Some Pine Cones won’t release their seeds unless they are engulfed in flames. So something old has to burn so the new can come through. No doubt this means a major change in attitude/behavior. The rejuvenating forest after the Fire is another sign that wondrous new growth occurs often only when the old has been completely turned to ash.

Pine Trees figure in this Journey. The woman must therefore be the Pine Twig on the Stone Spirit’s table. Her man must be the Stone, set in his ways. Also very interesting is that the old man went to live among the Pines. This implies he was somehow knew or was related to the young girl in a past life.

The Stone Spirit and his world played a major role. Stones record all that has happened in the place they lie, and so the presence of a Stone motif means that the woman must look hard at her past history and that of her man and be aware of all there is to be aware of that might matter.

The old woman may be a current relative who is trying to get involved in this future.

It was very interesting that I was holding the Star paperweight, and the Journey began with a starry night with shooting Stars, and ended with an imprint of a Star in my inner vision. There is great concurrence among Shamanist traditions that the Stars can contain Spirits of Ancestors..the heavy presence of this imagery indicates again there may be someone in the Past that can still be a teacher for the Future.

4/11/05: The Woman's reply: "That was interesting. The three children, I have my daughter and (the man) has two boys. I am wondering if that is the three." Since this reply, the man has asked me to do a Journey for him as well..he was very impressed with the above.
