The Bear Dream

Had an amazing dream about 1 hour ago. I had just come down a seldom used slope on one ski somewhere and ended up in my back yard, again somewhere. I went over to a low lying dish sitting on a shelf in a shed, and it was filled with food..hamburger and some other things. Surprised but glad, I took a bit to eat and some of the rest almost fell out with abundance. It was sunny. Suddenly, I heard a sound to my left, and I saw a tremendously large Black Bear come through the thick hedges there. This Bear was perfect in every way. Size, shape, color, shine, each hair in place..magnificent. I was tremendously impressed but also quite concerned. Bear came right for me, and I was quite nervous, for I know of their destructive power. I felt it wanted the food, but there I was, right in the way. So I began to walk toward the house. It was more interested in me, though, and as I climbed the wooden steps, Bear was right behind me. I was walking slowly, figuring running would be worse. When I reached the storm door, I was on the wrong side. I opened it and had to swing on its hinges in order to get to the open side..this of course took me right by the Bear’s nose. Again I hoped this would not be taken as provocation. At this point, I began to realize the Bear was not after me in violence, but in friendship. I got inside and looked back. Bear was just waiting there at the bottom of the steps like a patient but hungry doggie. I ran into the house to my bookshelf (I was now back in my youth house..where all this began with the Shaman’s Dream 3 or 4 years ago). I was rifling through the books, trying to find the one that said what Bears like to eat. At this point, in my frustration and excitement, I awoke.

This is a tremendous vision. Not only is Bear the Healer totem, it is also the “patron saint” of the Mongolian Shamanic tradition. I went back and revisited with Bear after this, and discovered it was a tremendously tall Shaman Spirit. I lay prostrate in gratitude at the Shaman’s feet. Ever since this Dream, I have been humbled and so grateful. If you look at my site, I’ve been quite busy in the Healing area for the past few days. I believe Bear has come in response, and gives me extraordinary faith that my work will result in positive change for those for whom have journeyed. This is a huge deal..very big..I’m still trying to get my arms around it, if you will. A great leap forward, and something Shamans pray for over years, if necessary. What a life-changing and amazing thrill. :)
