My Son's Friend's Power Animal

8/23/05: A Journey to ascertain a friend of my Son's Power Animal. As I headed into the Spirit World, I found myself very quickly wading out from a Beach into shallow Caribbean Waters. There was an Island a short Distance from the Shore and my Lower World Guide, Crosses in Front, and I headed over to it. When we got there we found it covered in Blue Herons, all resting. As we moved up from the Waterline, we approached a golden Boulder, near which sat a Chipmunk. The Chipmunk came over to us and handed me a few Sunflower Seeds from its Mouth Pouch. We then saw the Tunnel to the Lower world in the Sand at the Base of the Boulder. We entered, and went through moist Sand. Soon we were in the Lower World, well to the right off where we usually arrive. As we settled in, a Dragonfly with yellow and gold Colors, who also had a lighting Tail like a Firefly, came and hovered a short Time in front of us. It flew off. We then moved over a short bit and came to rest upon a purple Stone whose Fragrance was of Lilacs. We then waited. Shortly, a large Elephant came over from the left, with a Tiger walking beside. They appeared to be friendly with one another. Just as suddenly, a baby Kangaroo bounced in from the right and landed right in front of us. He seemed quite content to wait there, and I began to get the impression this was Adam’s PA. The Elephant then picked up the Roo with its Trunk and held it over its Mouth as if it was going to eat the baby. A big Smile crossed both the Elephant’s and Tiger’s Faces. The Elephant then put the Kangaroo back down. The Elephant and Tiger then left. We then watched as the baby Kangaroo began bounding all over the Place. It jumped to a great Height and came back down to us with an Apple. The Dragon/Firefly then returned and landed a brief Moment on the Kangaroo’s Head. The Roo then began bouncing across the Lake before us, never once sinking into the Water. We then collected the Roo and came back up the Tunnel, crossed the Lagoon back onto the original Beach. From there, I thanked my Guide and returned to the Room.

Kangaroo is the Power Animal for the Friend. See the attached write-up for the Spirit Energies supplied by the Helper who comes as Kangaroo. The basic Medicine of Kangaroo is: Time to move forward and not back. Kangaroo Medicine asks the following questions: Are we not moving forward? Do we need to go ahead, even if it seems premature? Are we refusing to disconnect from the things of childhood? Are we heeding previous experiences? Are we trying to go in reverse when forward is the only way to go? Are we nursing what we have given birth to? Do we need to balance our creative activities? Are we staying grounded? Are we giving up too easily?

Explanation: Power Animals are really Spirit Beings who come to enhance existent or totally supply the qualities of the Animal form they pick to the human they are assigned to.

Other Notes: There were many Totem Plants/Animals in this Journey as well. Here are some key indicators they supply:

Heron speaks to aggressive self-reliance and self-determination. The fact there were so many Herons on the Island means Adam has these qualities in spades. However, they were all at rest, so Adam needs to crank these up to a higher energy level.

The gold Boulder speaks of Wealth/Security as a main goal for Adam. However, these wishes need to remain grounded in reality.

Sunflower Seeds must be important to Adam’s Diet. He should look into eating them on a regular basis. Also, Sunflower Medicine speaks to times of happiness and well-being, as well as strong healing energy.

Chipmunk Medicine speaks to valuing the treasures of the Earth, storing carefully those things you value, and of balancing work and play.

Firefly speaks to Spiritual awakening and Hope. Spiritual gifts are awakening, flickering within. Positive hope is a critical component to fulfillment and accomplishment. Firefly also warns to be sure that those around us are not mimicking what is true rather than what we hope to hear. Are we focusing on the wrong path or working with the wrong people? We may be letting others’ negative opinions crush our creativity. Dragonfly speaks of the power of light. Life is never quite as it appears, but is always filled with more light and color. Dragonfly helps you see through your illusions and allow your own light to shine forth. It brings the brightness of transformation and the wonder of colorful new vision.

Lilac speaks to the balance of Spirit and Intellect. It announces that contact with Spirit is imminent. The fact we smelled Lilac just before Roo showed up strengthen the fact Roo is the Power Animal for Adam. Adam should attach himself fondly to Lilacs in order to keep that feeling of spirit arrival fresh and alive.

The sort of contrary elements presented by Elephant and Tiger add up as follows. Adam must have a bit of a contrary relationship with royalty, ancestry and/or societal norms (part of Elephant Medicine). These forces tend to try to tie him up. Tiger speaks to Passion, Power, Devotion and Sensuality. The fact this Medicine also showed up in the contrary means Adam may be suppressing these wonderful qualities in his own Life. He should turn them loose and let them run across the steppes of his life.

Finally, Yellow speaks to Mental Activity, Intellectual Power and Awakening, qualities already brought out in parts of he above discussions. Gold peaks to strengthening and amplifying..again brought out earlier.

9/3: Adam drew me a fantastic pencil sketch of the Lower World Animal Visits, as a thank you. Here is a young Man who used his Talents to honor my Work for him. I am completely honored in return, although the Honor belongs to my Helpers. The Sketch will hang in my Shaman's Altar room from here on out.
